Veralinx [VL] has developed an advanced platform built on an architecture that integrates the best digital technologies.
Thanks to this innovative architecture, through the [VL] domain, web app, blockchain, and an NFC (Near Field Communication) TAG applied to the artwork and the COA (Certificate of Authenticity), each artwork is assigned a unique, non-replicable, and secure digital identity. This creates an immutable and permanent link between the artwork and the artist.

Registration

The authentication process is carried out through the creation and registration of a digital Artwork Card, compiled and signed with a private key by the editor (artist, representative, agent, etc.). The Artwork Card contains detailed images and essential information about the artwork, providing a complete and structured documentation.

The Artwork Card is not just a technological tool but a key element for the protection of the artwork and the artist’s intellectual property. Through its digital registration and cryptographic signature, the Artwork Card certifies the uniqueness of the artwork and preserves its value over time.

The application of an NFC TAG, also digitally signed by the editor, adds an additional layer of protection and authenticity. Both the Artwork Card and the TAG are registered on the [VL] domain and the Algorand blockchain, ensuring immutable traceability and secure access to data.
The generated Artwork Card is stored as a file on the Veralinx database server and remains accessible to the editor.

Verification

Verification is the phase in which a work of art is analyzed to confirm its authenticity.
The Artwork Card, created during registration, remains the central element in this step: it allows collectors, appraisers, galleries, and institutions to evaluate the artwork with reliability and transparency.

The process can take place in different ways:

  • by directly consulting the Card (author, title, and registered metadata);

  • through the Opera-ID web app for automatic identification;

  • or by reading the NFC TAG, if applied to the artwork and the Certificate of Authenticity (COA).

Opera-ID makes it possible to:

  • identify the artwork with a smartphone camera, providing a match index against the original;

  • geolocate the artwork at the moment of verification;

  • access the Artwork Card and the blockchain record in real time.

The presence of an NFC TAG adds an extra layer of protection: scanning it with a smartphone generates a unique link that displays the verification result (authentic or not authentic) and provides direct access to the Card and blockchain data.

The anti-counterfeiting technology of the TAG is based on a proprietary protocol developed by Veralinx, designed to ensure maximum protection against duplication and tampering.

Veralinx.art does not replace the traditional authentication process of artworks but enhances it. Therefore, any existing paper documentation can be integrated into this digital verification process, adding value and security.
