Services Provided by Veralinx
What services does Veralinx offer?
Veralinx [VL] provides an advanced digital platform for the registration, protection, and verification of artworks. The service is designed to ensure authenticity, traceability, and security through innovative tools based on blockchain technology and NFC TAGs.
Does Veralinx authenticate or appraise artworks?
No, [VL] does not authenticate or appraise artworks. The platform provides advanced digital tools that allow artists, foundations, and art professionals to assign a certified digital identity to artworks, improving protection against counterfeiting and enhancing traceability.
[VL] integrates and supports traditional authentication processes by offering:
Digital Artwork Card: A digitally signed and blockchain-registered document that certifies the connection between the artwork and its author.
Digitally signed NFC TAG: A physical security device applied to the artwork that allows immediate verification of authenticity via a smartphone.
Opera-ID web app: A recognition tool based on image analysis, enabling users to identify the artwork and verify its details.
[VL] provides advanced technological tools to support foundations, archives, and artists in the authentication and protection of artworks.
Is Veralinx an online marketplace for artworks?
No, VL is not an e-commerce platform and does not sell artworks. Its purpose is to offer technologies for digital certification and authenticity protection.
Can Veralinx be used to create NFTs?
No, [VL] is not a platform for creating NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens). Unlike NFTs, which are associated with digital files, VL links a physical artwork to an NFC TAG and a digitally signed Artwork Card, both of which are registered on the blockchain, creating an immutable connection between the artwork and the artist.
Digital Identity of an Artwork
What is the digital identity of an artwork?
The digital identity of an artwork consists of securely and immutably recorded data, certifying the connection between the artwork and the artist. This is achieved through the digital Artwork Card, NFC TAG, and blockchain registration, ensuring authenticity and traceability.
What is a digital Artwork Card?
It is a digital certificate that contains detailed images and information about an artwork. The card is digitally signed by the editor (artist or authorized representative) and registered on the blockchain, ensuring it cannot be altered or counterfeited.
Why is the Artwork Card important?
In addition to certifying the connection between the artwork and the artist, the Artwork Card is essential for intellectual property protection. It provides a structured digital record that can be used to protect the artist from plagiarism or forgery attempts.
What is the hash code of a digital Artwork Card?
The hash code is a unique digital fingerprint of the Artwork Card, which is recorded on the blockchain. This code guarantees the card’s integrity, ensuring that it cannot be modified after registration.
Security and Data Storage
What happens if Veralinx shuts down its servers?
The information will not be lost.
Artwork Cards can be downloaded and stored locally by the editor.
The blockchain is a distributed network, and the recorded data will always remain accessible.
Why does Veralinx use the Algorand blockchain?
[VL] has chosen Algorand because it offers:
Fast transactions
Low registration costs
Energy efficiency, with minimal environmental impact
High security due to decentralization
How the Platform Works
What is the procedure to use Veralinx?
Register an account on the platform.
Generate your private and public keys.
Purchase credits to register artworks.
Create the Artwork Card using the Card Editor, signing it digitally with your private key.
Optionally, order NFC TAGs, which can be physically attached to the artwork and its COA (Certificate of Authenticity).
What are private and public keys?
Private and public keys are fundamental components of asymmetric cryptography, used to ensure security in digital communications. In this system, each user has a pair of keys:
Private key: must be kept secret and is used to decrypt received messages and to digitally sign sent messages, attesting to their authenticity.
Public key: can be freely shared with others and is used to encrypt messages intended for the owner of the corresponding private key and to verify digital signatures.
This mechanism ensures that only the legitimate recipient can read a message encrypted with their public key, and that a message’s digital signature can be verified by anyone possessing the sender’s public key, guaranteeing the message’s integrity and origin.
What is an NFC TAG?
It is an authentication chip that, once attached to an artwork, allows authentication verification via Near Field Communication (NFC) technology.
How is an NFC TAG read?
Simply bring an NFC-enabled smartphone close to the TAG. The device will generate a unique link directing to the registered Artwork Card, displaying the artwork’s data and authentication status.
What is ArTAG?
ArTAG is the NFC TAG developed by [VL], designed to ensure:
Maximum security
Anti-tamper protection
Clone-proof technology
Verification and Opera-ID Web App
What is Opera-ID?
Opera-ID is a web app that allows the identification of previously registered artworks on [VL].
Uses the smartphone camera to analyze the artwork image and provide a matching index (degree of similarity to the original).
Can geolocate the artwork at the time of scanning.
Can Opera-ID identify any type of artwork?
Currently, Opera-ID can only identify registered artworks that are paintings, graphics, or photographs. It cannot yet recognize three-dimensional works such as sculptures.
Is Opera-ID available to everyone?
No, to use Opera-ID, users must log in as a registered user on [VL].
User Registration and Account Management
Who can register on the platform?
The platform is open to:
Artists
Authorized representatives and legal agents
Collectors
Gallery owners
Experts and professionals in the art world
Who can create and register Artwork Cards?
Only artists and their authorized representatives (legal agents).
Can users delete their accounts?
