MyVeralinx — Getting Started

MyVeralinx is the secure account area used to manage your Veralinx profile, cryptographic keys, Artwork Cards, credits and related digital records.

1. Register and confirm your email

Registration requires the Veralinx invitation password. Complete all required fields, choose the correct role, accept the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions, and submit the form.

A confirmation message is sent to the registered email address. The confirmation link is valid for 24 hours. Check the spam folder if the message is not visible in the inbox.

2. User roles

  • Artist (AR): may generate keys and create Artwork Cards for their works.
  • Artist Procurator (AP): may generate keys and create Artwork Cards as the authorised representative of an artist.
  • Art Professional / Enthusiast (AE): has access to account management and Opera-ID functions, but cannot generate keys or create Artwork Cards.

After email confirmation, Artist and Artist Procurator accounts receive the initial credits assigned by Veralinx. One credit is used for each Artwork Card submitted.

3. Generate your keys

Before creating an Artwork Card, an authorised account must complete Key-Gen. The RSA private/public key pair is generated in the browser. Veralinx stores only the public key and TAG signer data.

Download and securely preserve the generated ZIP package. The private key cannot be recovered from Veralinx. The private key may also be installed in the current browser as a non-extractable key for future Card Editor signatures.

4. Create an Artwork Card

Open Artwork Card from the Account page, complete the artwork information, add between 4 and 8 JPEG images, and sign the card with the private key. The first image must show the complete artwork.

Creation consumes one credit and saves the card with status pending_validation. New cards are initially hidden from public Search Card results. Public listing, privacy and location logging are managed later from Manage Card.

5. Review, notarisation and Opera-ID

After review, a card may be rejected with a review note or proceed to validation and blockchain notarisation. A rejected card displays the reason in Manage Card and the registration credit is handled according to the rejection record.

When notarisation is complete, the blockchain transaction ID is associated with the card and the Record Certificate becomes available after generation. Opera-ID status is displayed after the artwork image has been enrolled in the recognition index.

6. Manage your cards

Manage Card allows the owner to download the card and Record Certificate, view the blockchain transaction, check Opera-ID status and control:

  • Search Card listing: whether a notarised card appears in public Search Card results.
  • Privacy: whether editor name and email are masked in public card views.
  • Location logging: whether Opera-ID verification events may store the approximate scan location for that artwork.

Security notes

  • Only one MyVeralinx session can remain active for the same account. A new login invalidates the previous session.
  • Pages may close the session after inactivity.
  • Never share the private key or the Key-Gen secret text.
  • A downloaded copy of an Artwork Card is a local copy. The online Veralinx record is the reference used for current status and verification.

Registration Guide

Use the MyVeralinx registration page to create a Veralinx account. Registration is available only with the invitation password supplied by Veralinx.

Choose the correct role

  • Artist: select this role when you are the artist and will register your own artworks.
  • Artist Procurator: select this role when you are authorised to act and sign on behalf of an artist.
  • Art Professional / Enthusiast: select this role for account and Opera-ID access without Artwork Card creation rights.

The role must correspond to the actual activity of the account holder. Role, name, surname, email and institution are not editable from the Account page after registration.

Required information

Enter name, surname, institution, complete address, postal code, city, state or province, country, telephone number and email address. The email address is used for account confirmation and login.

The institution field may identify an artist studio, foundation, gallery, archive or other relevant organisation.

Password requirements

The password must contain at least 8 characters, including:

  • at least one uppercase letter;
  • at least one number;
  • at least one special character.

Email and password must be entered twice. Copy and paste is disabled in the confirmation email field.

Privacy and terms

The Register button is enabled only after accepting both the Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions.

Email confirmation

After submission, Veralinx sends a confirmation email. Open the message and select Confirm your registration. The link expires after 24 hours. Check the spam folder if necessary.

The account remains in pending_email status until the confirmation link is used.

Account activation

  • Artist and Artist Procurator accounts are activated with the initial credits assigned by Veralinx and may proceed to Key-Gen.
  • Art Professional / Enthusiast accounts are activated for their permitted functions but cannot generate keys or create Artwork Cards.

An email address can be associated with only one Veralinx account.

Account Guide

After login, the Account page displays the current account status, available credits and public-key status.

Profile information

The following fields are displayed as registered and cannot be changed from this page:

  • email;
  • role;
  • name and surname;
  • institution.

You may update telephone number, address, postal code, city, state or province and country. To change the password, enter the same new password in both password fields and select Update account.

Account functions

  • Key-Gen: generates the account cryptographic keys and TAG signer. It is a one-time operation.
  • Artwork Card: opens the Card Editor. A valid public key and at least one available credit are required.
  • Manage Card: opens the management page for existing cards, certificates, public settings and Opera-ID status.
  • Credits: opens the order page for credits and NFC TAGs after Key-Gen has been completed.

Buttons are enabled according to the user role, account status, available public key and current account permissions.

Artwork Card list

The lower section lists the Artwork Cards associated with the account. Selecting a card name opens the owner view, which displays the complete card even when public privacy is enabled.

Typical card statuses are:

  • pending_validation: submitted and awaiting review;
  • rejected: not accepted; the review note is available in Manage Card;
  • validated: accepted and awaiting completion of notarisation;
  • notarized: registered on the Algorand blockchain.

Credits and TAG orders

The Credits page allows the user to select a credit package, NFC TAG quantity and payment method. Submitting the form creates an order.

  • Wire transfer: the order remains pending until payment is verified.
  • Credit card / Stripe: the user is redirected to Stripe Checkout.

Credits are not assigned merely because an order was created. They are updated only after the payment status has been verified.

Role limitations

Art Professional / Enthusiast accounts can update the account and log out, but the operational Artwork Card functions are not displayed.

Session security

MyVeralinx permits one active session per account. A successful login from another browser or device invalidates the previous session. Use Logout when leaving the account.

Key-Gen Guide

Key-Gen creates the cryptographic identity used to sign Veralinx Artwork Cards and to associate the account with its TAG signer data.

Before starting

Key-Gen is available only to authorised operational accounts with an active account and no key pair already registered. The operation can be completed only once.

Name to save

The file name is generated automatically from the account name, surname and role. It cannot be edited on the Key-Gen page.

Secret text for TAG signature

Enter a private secret text between 128 and 256 characters. Use a long, unique sequence that cannot be guessed.

The secret text is included in the downloaded Key-Gen package. Keep it confidential and preserve it with the private key. Do not send it by ordinary email or publish it.

Generated files

Select Generate Keys & TAG signer. A 2048-bit RSA key pair is generated locally in the browser and downloaded as a ZIP package containing:

  • name_private.pem — the private key used to sign Artwork Cards;
  • name_public.pem — the corresponding public key;
  • name_private_text.txt — the secret text entered for TAG signer generation.

Veralinx receives and stores the public key and TAG signer verification data. The private key is not uploaded to the server.

Install the private key in this browser

The optional browser-install checkbox stores the generated private key as a non-extractable browser CryptoKey. The PEM file is not stored in clear text in the browser database.

This option allows the Card Editor to sign future cards without requesting the PEM file each time. The installation applies only to the current browser profile and may be lost if site data, browser storage or the browser profile is deleted.

Private-key backup

The downloaded private key remains the essential backup. Store the ZIP package and private key in a secure offline location. Veralinx cannot recover, reconstruct or resend the private key.

Use in Card Editor

The Card Editor first checks for a valid private key installed in the browser. If none is available, it requests the private PEM file, verifies it against the public key stored by Veralinx and, where supported, installs it as a non-extractable key for later use.

Never select the public-key file when the Card Editor requests the private key.

Artwork Card Editor Guide

The Artwork Card Editor creates a digitally signed HTML record containing the artwork information and photographic documentation.

Requirements

  • an active Artist or Artist Procurator account;
  • completed Key-Gen and a registered public key;
  • the matching private key, installed in the browser or available as a PEM file;
  • at least one available credit;
  • between 4 and 8 JPEG images.

Editor and artwork information

The Editor & Signer and email fields are linked to the logged-in account. Complete the artist and artwork fields carefully, including:

  • artist name and year of birth;
  • artwork title, completion year and place of realisation;
  • classification, edition and signature type;
  • dimensions, medium or technique and description;
  • artist biography and web page;
  • provenance records and authenticity information;
  • Artwork TAG and COA TAG serial numbers, when assigned.

TAG serial numbers must be entered as valid 8-digit numeric codes.

Images

Add a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 images. The first image must be a complete, front-facing image of the artwork because it is used as the principal card image and for Opera-ID enrolment.

Recommended documentation includes the front, rear, relevant details, the artist with the artwork and the signed paper certificate of authenticity where available.

Images are resized and compressed before being embedded in the Artwork Card. Review the image order before submission.

Private-key signature

When Create Artwork Card is selected, the editor uses the private key installed in the current browser. If no valid key is installed, the page requests the matching private PEM file.

The private key is verified against the public key registered for the account. A key belonging to another account, a public-key file or an invalid PEM file is rejected.

Load a previous card

Load a card imports reusable textual information from an existing card owned by the account. It does not edit the original card.

Images and TAG serial numbers are deliberately not imported and must be selected or entered again. Submission creates a new Artwork Card with a new number, hash and signature.

Submission and credit use

Creating the card:

  1. generates the signed HTML Artwork Card;
  2. calculates its SHA-256 hash;
  3. saves the card in Veralinx;
  4. uses one credit;
  5. sets the status to pending_validation.

New cards use these initial settings:

  • Search Card listing: no — the card is not listed in public Search Card results;
  • Privacy: no — editor identity is visible in public card views;
  • Location logging: yes — Opera-ID events may store the approximate scan location.

These settings can be changed later in Manage Card without altering the original card content, hash or digital signature.

After submission

Use Manage Card to follow the status. A rejected card shows the review note and may be deleted. Pending or rejected cards can be deleted only while they have no blockchain or certificate record.

After validation and notarisation, the blockchain transaction and Record Certificate become available. Opera-ID status appears after enrolment of the artwork image.

Manage Card Guide

Manage Card displays the Artwork Cards owned by the logged-in account and provides access to downloads, certificates, blockchain information, Opera-ID status and public-data settings.

Select an Artwork Card

Select a card from the list to display artist, title, status, file name, creation date, blockchain transaction, certificate information and Opera-ID status.

Card status

  • pending_validation: the card has been submitted and is awaiting review.
  • rejected: the card was not accepted. The review note and credit-refund information are displayed.
  • validated: the card has passed review and is awaiting completion of notarisation.
  • notarized: the card hash and identifying information have been registered in an Algorand transaction.

Search Card listing

  • yes — listed in Search Card: a notarised card can appear in public Search Card results.
  • no — hidden from Search Card: the card is excluded from public Search Card results.

This setting controls only the public Search Card listing. It does not remove the card and does not block access through a valid direct card token, certificate QR, Opera-ID or NFC link.

Privacy

  • no — show editor identity: editor name and email are visible in public card views.
  • yes — hide editor name and email: editor name and email are masked in every public token view, including direct card links, Search Card, Opera-ID, NFC links and the Artwork Card QR contained in the Record Certificate.

The artist name remains visible. The authenticated owner view remains complete.

When Privacy is set to yes, Search Card does not display the blockchain TXID or explorer link. Privacy does not modify the original Artwork Card, digital signature, SHA-256 hash or blockchain transaction. The editor remains included in the notarisation data recorded on Algorand; the setting only removes the direct blockchain link from the public Veralinx search result.

Location logging

  • yes — store scan location: Opera-ID verification events may store the approximate location where the artwork is scanned or photographed.
  • no — do not store scan location: location coordinates are not stored for recognised events related to that artwork.

Location logging is independent of Search Card listing and Privacy. It controls only the storage of location data in Opera-ID logs.

Blockchain TXID

For a notarised card, the Blockchain TXID field links to the Algorand transaction explorer. The owner can access this link in Manage Card even when public Privacy is enabled.

Record Certificate

The Certificate button is enabled after the card has been validated, notarised and its Record Certificate has been generated. The certificate is generated once and stored by Veralinx.

The PDF includes the Record Certificate ID, Artwork Card name, numeric Card Number, Artwork Card QR, SHA-256 card hash, blockchain TXID, blockchain QR, timestamp and documentary statement.

The Record Certificate provides documentary evidence of the Veralinx digital records. It is not proof of ownership, a legal authentication, an appraisal, a copyright assignment or a transfer of rights.

Opera-ID status

  • Not enrolled: the artwork image has not yet been added to the recognition index.
  • Enrolled / Already indexed: the artwork image is available to Opera-ID.
  • Enroll failed: enrolment was not completed successfully.

Download Card

Download Card saves the original HTML Artwork Card associated with the account. A downloaded file is a local copy; the online Veralinx record remains the reference for current status, privacy settings and linked records.

Delete Card

Only cards with status pending_validation or rejected can be deleted, and only when no blockchain record or Record Certificate exists.

  • Deleting a pending card refunds the registration credit when applicable.
  • For a rejected card, the credit has already been handled during rejection and no second refund is issued.

Deletion removes the card record and HTML file and cannot be undone.
